About Me

I grew up in Juneau, Alaska, where I lived until I met my husband in May of 2004.  We married a year later in the Portland Oregon temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  We have a two-year old little boy and a seven-year old Great Dane that keeps us on our toes.

I graduated from Oregon State University in Exercise and Sport Science, Athletic Training option.  During my time at Oregon State, I had the opportunity to experience Athletic Training internships with Oregon State's women's cross-country team, the Dixon Recreation Center Athletic Training clinic at Oregon State, Western Oregon University, Oregon State football, Corvallis High School in Corvallis, Oregon, and West Albany High School in Albany, Oregon.

I am a strong believer that anyone can achieve their fitness goals.  I fully believe in modifying activities to make it possible for anyone to participate.  Fitness IS NOT exclusive.  It is something anyone can and should obtain, and is an aspect of our lives that is vital for a sense of fulfillment, happiness, and health.  I am not a person that is capable of winning a marathon (or any race for that matter!), I am not a person that will ever be skilled enough to professionally compete in any event; however, I am a person that participates and enjoys a variety of activities.  I have experienced numerous instances in my life where I have accomplished things I never thought possible, and it is not because of a skill set in my genetic material, rather, it is because of desire, persistence, and faith.  I have and continue to modify activities that suit my needs and goals and can do the same for you, because fitness is not one-size-fits-all...it is as unique as the individual desiring it.
